MicroStrategy Database Engineer at Toro Tech, Inc.

Responsibilities:

Identify problems, develop ideas and propose solutions within differing situations requiring analytical, evaluative or constructive thinking in daily work and for assigned programs and projects
Design and implement caching and performance architecture for MicroStrategy BI tools
Design and develop MicroStrategy projects, logical data marts and table structures; and define attributes, dimensions, hierarchies and metrics
Document systems through object models, data definitions and naming conventions
Apply conceptualized and creative-thinking expertise toward possible reporting solutions or alternatives

Qualifications:

5+ years’ experience with BI related solutions
3+ year’s experience with Microstrategy or similar tools
MicroStrategy 8.x or greater experience required, 9.x a big plus
Expertise in Report Development, including schema object optimization
Familiarity with functions, dimensionality and transformations
Ability to collaborate with Data and ETL architects on overall design and solution
approach
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, troubleshooting MicroStrategy
Strong User interface design skills and visualization required
Excellent development and testing skills (including test planning and execution)
Work well under pressure and able to meet and exceed project deadlines
Strong communication/collaboration skills, ability to work with business/technical staff of all levels
Experience working in RAD or Agile development environment
Strong SQL skills required, DB2, Netezza experience a plus
MicroStrategy Certified Developer (MCD), preferred
BS Degree in Computer Science preferred
